Why Confections for Cancer?
When I was growing up my Mom baked cakes as a side business to augment her teacher’s salary. Needless to say, I learned how to bake from a very young age. I recall licking lots of spoons, and of course taste testing everything she made.
My late husband Anthony Cilluffo was a dessert guy. He wouldn’t be done with dinner and he’d be asking me what was for dessert. I made all kinds of fun desserts, but he always wanted my classic chocolate chip cookie. I’d even keep frozen dough in the freezer so he could make his own cookies when I was traveling for work.
In July, 2019 Anthony, after fighting for over two years, passed away from Colorectal Cancer. Confections for Cancer is a way for me to honor my late husband’s life by donating money to help educate people on early prevention, and help fund research to find a cure for Colorectal Cancer.
Together we can find a cure so that others will never have to go through what Anthony did.
